Irina provides policy advice, strategic technical expertise and capacity-building on combating trafficking in human beings, protection of migrant children and addressing vulnerability within mixed migration flows to IOM offices in the region. As part of her daily work, Irina also advises EU institutions, national governments and civil society on these matters.
Before joining the Regional Office in Brussels in 2013, Irina worked at the IOM Mission in Moldova from 2004 to 2012 as Counter Trafficking Coordinator and Reintegration Coordinator, among others. Before joining IOM, she worked as Project Administrator providing Technical Assistance to the Moldovan Export Promotion Organization from 2000 to 2003.
Irina holds a Master’s Degree in English literature and Education from Moldova State University. She has also been a member of the EU Group of Experts in Trafficking in Human Beings, where she advised the European Commission on related matters.
