IOM Addresses Migration, Development, Environment at European Development Days

04 May 2015 - IOM Deputy Director General Laura Thompson will take part in the high level panel “Migration is Development: Making Migration a Driver for Development” at this year’s “European Development Days” (EDD) forum on 04 June.

For more information about the panel discussion, please see LINK.

IOM will also showcase the links between migration and environmental change by presenting the preliminary findings of its EU-funded “MECLEP” research project at an interactive debate lab co-organized with the European Commission’s DG Decvo called "Migration, Environment and Climate Change: Evidence for Policymaking." The 3-year IOM project is currently working to contribute to the global knowledge base on the relationship between migration and environmental change, including climate change, to meet policymakers’ growing need for scientifically-grounded evidence and sound analysis on the topic.
