IOM Activities in the EU Relocation Scheme - April 2018

The EU relocation scheme is an expression of internal EU solidarity, through which people in need of international protection are transferred from Greece and Italy to another Member State of Relocation (MSR), where their asylum application will be processed. Eligible are only nationalities for which EU average recognition rate is above 75%.

To date, 34,694 people in need of international protection have been relocated in the EEA and Associated States area.
