Senior Regional Migration Health Advisor
Maria Cristina coordinates the Unit responsible for Migration Health.
Maria Cristina is an Italian Medical Doctor specialized in Infectious Diseases with one Master’s Degree in Primary Health Care Management and one in Health Economics.
She has more than twenty-five years of international experience, of which twenty-two years with the World Health Organization (WHO). Fifteen of these years, she worked at country level and for seven years at the Regional level in three regions (EURO, EMRO, SEARO), leading and managing assignments in complex duty stations, including managing eight WHO offices and as WHO Representative in Ukraine, Turkey and Jordan, Head of Emergency Offices and Health Coordinator. Prior to the WHO, she worked in Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina to manage health programmes funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Maria Cristina is the author of several scientific publications.
