Senior Emergency and Post-Crisis Specialist
Patrice coordinates the Unit responsible for providing support for the development and implementation of IOM’s European Union funded emergency and postcrisis activities and policy guidance on EU led humanitarian policy files in the region and worldwide.
Prior to joining the IOM Regional Office in Brussels in March 2016, Patrice was the Senior Humanitarian Policy Advisor at IOM Headquarter in Geneva in the Department of Operations and Emergencies. He has been working for IOM since 2008 in various capacities and through this period has been deployed to a number of large scale crisis contexts to support preparedness, response and risk reduction efforts including in Haiti, Pakistan, Libya, Niger, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria and DRC Goma. Since 2013, he has been focusing his work on strengthening IOM’s humanitarian and crisis response frameworks through policy development with the Migration Crisis Operational Framework and IOM’s Principles for Humanitarian Action. Before joining IOM, Patrice worked for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in different positions, including in Kosovo as senior political advisor.
Patrice holds a Master in Philosophy, a postgraduate in International Relations and a Certificate in Business Administration.
